Construction of CAD-models | Meshing
The main aspects of constructing FEM models are modelling the geometry of the physical part, the boundary conditions and external strains as well as possible, and also meshing in the models of the various part types. We offer:
- the construction of 2D or 3D CAD models to your own tolerances and the transfer of these into our own or the customer´s FEM software,
- meshing of the structure with finite elements,
- sound knowledge of specific advantages and disadvantages of the various element types with regard to accuracy, stability and calculation time.
Reliability of calculation | Choice of a suitable material model
Of greatest importance in the FEM simulation is the choice of a material model fitting to the nature of the job and the determination of material parameters. Only with both can one can ensure the level of reliability desired. We offer:
- material data identification from comparison of experimental data with the FEM simulation,
- high accuracy and reliability of the parameters,
- high reliability in both the application and the results of our calculation routines,
- reliability of the FEM simulation.
The choice of a material model depends upon the customer´s wishes. Is it wished to merely estimate the position of stress concentration peaks or critical points in the part, or to provide a quantitative description of a part with highly complex behaviour?
Each additional aspect in the description of the material behaviour involves expense. It is necessary to distinguish between a part which is to be produced in mass and a part which is critical with regard to safety, e.g. in the automobile industry.
Competent assessment of results
In order to ensure that calculation routines remain of value to the customer in the future we offer:
- to pass on to the customer the technical know-how necessary for assessment of results,
- to discuss through results with the customer,
- to demonstrate the main results of the concluded project, to allow the customer to keep access to the application and to pass this on internally.
